A RECAP: C&I Teaches Prototyping at Girls Learning Code Summer Camp

Pipe cleaners, DIY Trauma Cards, dice, construction paper, DIY Tokens, building blocks, markers, smiles and creativity – everywhere!

This past Monday, we held a workshop for a group of 8 to 13 year olds on prototyping for video game design and it was a blast! Using Minecraft as a base, we had the girls create characters and challenges, emulate them with craft supplies and then develop game concepts around their stories. Below are photos of some of the games concepts the girls created.

A big thanks to Emma Westecott for working on this workshop with us, Cecily Carver and Chris de Carteret for helping us mentor the group of 46 energetic and ambitious girls, Rosa Park for capturing bits of the experience behind a camera lens and to Girls Learning Code and their mentors for the opportunity and support.
